Playground activityđź”–Abridge Academy Phonics 1, 2, & 3
Introducing the Abridge Academy Phonics Course supplemental playground series! Each of these playgrounds correspond with lessons from the Abridge Academy curriculum. This playground features 3 islands each assigned a lesson from AA phonics. The first island is for Welcome to the Jungle, the second is for Let’s Go the Zoo, and the third is for Ninja Phonics Review. I have successfully integrated these playgrounds with my Abridge Academy Phonics lessons. What has worked well for me is to divide my 25 minute lesson time up into “slide learning” and “playground review” (depending on the lesson this could look like 20 minutes of slides and 5 minutes of playground). This system will also benefit teachers who want to add more lessons to their students’ learning path by having a “slide learning” lesson followed by a “playground learning” lesson OR boosting your 25 minute lessons up to 45 minute lessons. Above all, it is a huge selling point to your students and their parents to have fun and motivational playgrounds that have a direct tie to exactly what they are learning in each lesson! Boost your students’ retention of the material with further interaction and practice in a gamified space!
