Easter (mid level)

A cute, colourful playground to celebrate Easter for 7 – 10 year olds. We start with an egg hunt of course. The student has to find the eggs and sort them into baskets according to the adjectives plain, spotty, striped and flowery. Then there’s a bigger egg hunt in which the student has to find the eggs and match them to a written description of the egg. In the next activity, the student gets to make their own egg hunt by hiding the eggs according to some instructions using the prepositions of place. The fourth activity is a writing activity to practise some easter vocabulary to finish some sentences. The fifth activity we focus on a little grammar, common nouns and proper nouns, in which the student has to sort the different types on nouns. In the sixth activity, the student matches the animals to their homes and gets to learn the names of a few homes, and then listens to a short sentence and matches the correct home to the sentence. The seventh activity is a matching exercise using animal baby words. There’s another egg hunt next, this time with the gem eggs. Lastly, there’s a story and a comprehension activity using the ingenious method designed by David Skaife, where a wrong answer leads to a drop into the darkness, and a chance to reread a part of the story again. Please note that the video is of the younger playground but the screenshots show the activities, and that I took the doors out when I made the video.
