Literacy Classroom 7: A Vowel-R Syllable Template
This Koala Go literacy classroom template is designed to teach the vowel-r syllable. The Koala Go Whiteboard Slides and Playground contain letter tiles, illustrations, review tools, and activities. This product has been reviewed by Susan Barton for copyright compliance and is compatible with the Barton Reading & Spelling System. Illustrated template pages for phonics spelling rules taught in Barton Level 7 are included. However, you must provide your own instructional content. NO copyrighted Barton curriculum content is included, including Barton’s spelling rule names and definitions. In order to build Barton lessons with this template, you MUST already own the Barton System, as the lessons are NOT prebuilt. This template serves as a framework with which to build your own lessons using your own curriculum. Because the Barton system is cumulative, this Koala Go Playground contains a lot of content and is quite heavy. It takes about one minute to load with a student and works best with a strong, fast internet connection and a PC or laptop. Once loaded, it works as it should. The playground has designated rooms and spaces in a dollhouse for teaching new content and working on spelling and reading words, phrases, sentences, and sight words. There are enough rooms in the dollhouse to build four complete lessons in one activity. There are color-coded signs offering placement suggestions for lesson content. The world also has additional review activities in designated zones. The attic contains seasonal décor. It is recommended to build all Level 7 lessons, then make copies of those lessons and decorate the copies with the décor to create seasonal lessons. After your seasonal lessons have been created, return to each complete lesson and delete the décor in the attic to lessen the content burden in the playground. Literacy Classroom 7: A Vowel-R Syllable Template is compatible with structured Orton-Gillingham-based programs that teach English syllable types. Use this Koala Go classroom template to build and save individual lessons as your master templates, which you can then copy for each new student. TEACHER TIP: Build all lesson procedures in both the whiteboard slides and the playground so you have the flexibility to do any procedure in either space as needed with students.
